Drops in the Ocean…

Pure. Joy.

I can’t stop smiling right now. I love those moments. That incredible feeling that comes from seeing God move in your life and in other’s lives, spending time with others in worship… There is nothing that comes close. This week has been like that.

First of all, it was my last week of classes. So… that was fun. :/ Not really. But it was nice to know that I was finishing up and was almost half-way through my university career… at least for now. 🙂

No, what was exciting was having some of the pieces get put together on some things that I had been stressing about recently. And having amazing conversations with people that shouldn’t have happened, and normally wouldn’t have happened but did. Being asked to be in a mentoring relationship with someone that I absolutely respect and have secretly thought would be incredible to be mentored by in the past. Being given an incredible opportunity to watch a person discover God and learn about him, seeking to know more.

And then… there was Saturday. I got the chance to support a very dear friend of mine who is heading off to Asia for eight months next year to work missionally with people that she has had a heart for and prayed for for a very long time. I’ve watched her journey to get to this point, and talked through some of the struggles that she’s gone through to get to this point. Her tenacity, and courage is inspiring to me, and I’ve learned a lot from this girl. And a few nights ago, I got to hear her use her amazing talent of poetry and spoken word for God’s glory, and it was so encouraging.

This is what the church is all about. It’s gathering together in worship, even if there’s no music. It’s supporting each other and encouraging each other in our walks with Christ. It’s laughing and crying together on this crazy, winding, and hilly journey that we’re on, and letting each other know that we’re not alone in this. I cannot describe how thankful I am for this, and being a part of a community like this is incredible. These are the times when I am reminded just how incredibly fortunate I am to be here. And it’s a good reminder.

Prayer: I would ask you all to pray for my friend Adelle as she heads to Asia. Please pray that she will get the support that she needs to get there, and pray for encouragement and support while she’s there. And, for others in your life that are doing something similar, please surround them with support and prayer.

P.S. I’m absolutely loving this song right now!
